Olympia Rally SS1 Kaiafas – Smerna

First day at Olympia Rally 2021 and following strict medical guidelines for COVID-19 all riders arrived safe and felt a sense of freedom after all the lockdown restrictions.

Super Special Stage 1 was a short day, just a prologue for the riders to get a taste and feel of the new terrain offered by the majestic Ancient Olympia Mountains.

60kms Special Stage and 90kms total, with tricky navigation and demanding dusty terrain!

First to finish the stage was #42 Ad JANSEN with #24 Ard VERMEULEN in second and #31 Wolfgang PAYR closing the top three in third position.

A great surprise was in the women’s class, seeing #11 Lily May MANSUY the 16 year old fighting against the rest of the field, as she is not only the only women in the race but also the youngest rider!

Tomorrow riders will follow the biggest roadbook of the rally, with more than 400 notes to follow! 250 kms, hard navigation, under a variety of terrain!

Good luck to everybody!
